Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity was a French Discalced Carmelite nun whose spirituality centered on the indwelling Trinity and the believer’s vocation to become a “praise of glory.” Before entering Carmel she was a talented pianist and active young laywoman. Her letters, retreats, and prayers show strong dependence on Paul’s epistles and Carmelite spirituality. She died at twenty-six from Addison’s disease and was canonized in 2016.
