Jacques Tirin, usually cited by the Latinized name Tirinus, was a Belgian Jesuit biblical scholar. His commentary on Scripture emphasized historical chronology, geography, harmonization, and the relationship among biblical passages. Tirin’s work was valued for organizing a large amount of learned material into usable annotations. Haydock cited him frequently, particularly where questions of dates, places, parallel texts, or historical reconstruction arose.
